This was the first recovery tool for the PSP that we had before the launchement of Pandora, because it could access it in semi-bricks and unbrick it.Also this tool could make changes to the firmware,
Psp 3000 Recovery Mode

This was the first recovery menu, and helped lots of people out from semi-bricks. This menu is very limited and has only three options. This is a built in feature for 1.50 POC. To access it, completely shut down the PSP. Completely shut down the PSP, by holding the power button up, until the screen goes blank. Then hold the R trigger and switch the PSP on. Keep holding the R trigger, and hopefully you should be on a similiar screen to the at the top of this page. Then you can change whatever you wanted to.
This is a recovery menu you can access on the XMB. It is made by Ketchup, and has lots of useful settings on it. This is not built in and you must download it from here(Works up to 3.90 M33). It has Pandora built in it, so you can build a Pandora's battery with it because it has the software.
Use VshMenu - Enabling this will enable the VhsMenu which you can access in normal XMB mode by pressing the HOME button for 3.52 M33 (Select Button on 3.71 M33 or above). This allows you to change some of the settings without entering recovery mode. (CPU Clock speed Xmb/Game, USB Device, UMD MODE and ISO Video mount)
What are the benefits? If you use a large memory card that official firmware cannot detect, it will more likely be detected on boot by the custom firmware. You no longer need to open up fast recovery, or even keep any of the custom firmware utilities on your PSP. This ability is available for all PSPs, with older models supporting permanent flashing via CIPL, and all models supporting Infinity.
Once bricked, unless you have a PSP 100X your best bet is to purchase another one. First gen owners can make or purchase a Pandora battery, which will force the PSP into recovery mode and can then restore the damaged firmware.
The current de facto standard custom firmware is PRO-C2, which supports the PSP-3000. There is no need to use the pandora battery, recovery mode, or other exploits, and it can be (and indeed should be) installed over the latest official firmware version.
Note that there's no support for permanently patching the bootloader (so that you don't need to run FastRecovery) on the PSP-3000, but everything else works fine. And this also means that if you want to use the plain Sony firmware, you just reboot the PSP and don't run FastRecovery and there you go.
Essentially, this hacking method allows you to convert your PSP battery into a bootable one. Once inserted, the PSP will force itself onto the recovery mode, enabling the device to install custom firmware. From there, players could even download game files from the internet and play them. These modified batteries can either be purchased online or can be created by yourself, given that you do have an extra battery and a friend who can lend you its hacked PSP.
The original bulky PSP-1000 & the slimmer PSP-2000 are by far the most preferred models for real PSP fans, thanks to their easiness to hack. Sony would later release upgraded models of the PSP, but its most noticeable one would be the PSP Go.
Though the PSP selling point was its portability, gamers could also use the TV, as an external screen, should they have a PSP compatible component AV cable. This functionality is only compatible with the PSP-2000 & PSP-3000 (sorry phat PSP). Also, it is essential to make sure that the PSP has enough charge. First, the composite AV color connectors must be plugged into the TV. Players would then need to connect the other end of the wire to the video out port of the PSP. The video quality is actively better in the portable console, as the image often come very blurred when playing a game, because of the PSP native resolution.
